Heavy rainfall is currently on going in Central and Western Liberia. The rain is expected to persist for the next two hours. This will lead to localized flooding in low-lying areas, reduced visibility on major roads, drainage systems becoming flooded, slick and slippery road surfaces.

Residents are advised to avoid walking or driving through floodwaters. Even shallow moving water can be dangerous, if you are already on the road, slow down and keep headlights on to improve visibility, stay away from open drains, waterways, and the coastline during the rainfall period, turn off and unplug electrical devices in areas where flood take place easily, keep important household items and move valuables to higher ground if you live in a flood-prone (water) community.
