1.1 INTERPRETATIONS

September 3, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of central Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Bong, Margibi, Nimba, Grand Bassa, River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, River Gee, Grand Kru, and Maryland counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over northern Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Northern Bong, the extreme north of Grand Bassa, River Cess, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, and River Gee Counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over northern and southeastern Liberia, affecting Lofa, Bong, Grand Gedeh, and Sinoe counties.

September 4, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Grand Cape Mount, Gbarpolu, Bomi, Montserrado, Bong, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Nimba, River Cess, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru, and Mary Land counties (Fig.2: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, Nimba, the extreme west and north of Grand Bassa, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, and River Gee counties (Fig. 2: Areas in Orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over western and southeastern Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, the extreme west of Bong, southern Grand Gedeh, and northern River Gee counties (Fig.2: Areas in Orange).

September 5, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Bong, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Nimba, River Cess, Sinoe, River Gee, and Grand Gedeh counties (Fig. 3: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over northern, southern, and southeastern Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, the extreme north of Gbarpolu, south of Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, and River Gee counties (Fig. 3: Areas in orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over northern Liberia, affecting Lofa County (Fig. 3: Areas in Red).

1.2 CAUTION

Moderate-to-heavy rainfall increases the risk of flash flooding. Strong winds may accompany the rains. The public is advised not to drive through surface runoff, as it can have strong undercurrents. Other likely hazards include slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility during the rain, which can disrupt road traffic. Strong winds threaten weak structures, trees, and masts. Disconnect electrical appliances before, not during, the rains. Elsewhere (see places in Green), no hydrometeorological hazards are anticipated. The public is, however, advised to watch out for updates.
