1.1 INTERPRETATIONS

September 6, 2026: Light rainfall is expected in most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, southern Nimba, Grand Bassa, River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland, River Gee, and Grand Gedeh counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru, and Maryland counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over northern and southeastern Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Bong, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru, and Maryland Counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Red).

September 7, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland, River Gee, and Grand Gedeh counties (Fig.2: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over parts of northern, western, and southeastern Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Bong, Nimba, Sinoe, and Grand Gedeh counties. (Fig.2: Areas in Orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over northern Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa and Nimba counties (Fig. 2: Areas in Red).

September 8, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting the extreme southern Lofa, eastern Gbarpolu, central east of Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Bong, Grand Bassa, River Cess, Sinoe, River Gee, Grand Kru, Maryland, Nimba, and Grand Gedeh counties (Fig. 3: Areas in Yellow).

Moderate rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Gedeh, River Gee, and Grand Kru Counties (Fig. 3: Areas in Orange).

Heavy rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Nimba, Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, and River Gee counties (Fig. 3: Areas in Red).

1.2 CAUTION

Flash flooding is possible due to expected moderate-to-heavy rainfall. Strong winds may accompany the rains. The public is advised not to drive through surface runoff, as it can have strong undercurrents. Other likely hazards include slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility during the rain, which can disrupt road traffic. Strong winds threaten weak structures, trees, and masts. Disconnect electrical appliances before, not during, the rains. Elsewhere (see places in Green), no hydrometeorological hazards are anticipated. The public is, however, advised to watch out for updates.
