Light rainfall is expected in western and northern Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, the extreme northeast of Grand Cape Mount, Western Bong, northern Nimba and Sinoe, and the extreme south of Grand Gedeh counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Yellow).
Moderate rainfall is expected across Liberia's extreme northwest, affecting Lofa County. (Fig. 1: Areas in Orange).
1.1 INTERPRETATIONS
September 13, 2026: Light rainfall is expected in western and northern Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, the extreme northeastern Grand Cape Mount, the Western Bong, northern Nimba and Sinoe, and the extreme south of Grand Gedeh counties (Fig. 1: Areas in Yellow).
Moderate rainfall is expected across the extreme northwest of Liberia, affecting Lofa County. (Fig. 1: Areas in Orange).
September 14, 2026: Light rainfall is expected over most parts of Liberia, affecting Lofa, Gbarpolu, Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, Bong, Nimba, River Cess, Sinoe, Grand Kru, Maryland, River Gee, and Grand Gedeh counties (Fig.2: Areas in Yellow).
Moderate rainfall is expected across parts of southwestern Liberia, affecting parts of Grand Cape Mount, Bomi, and Montserrado counties. (Fig.2: Areas in Orange).
September 15, 2026: Light rainfall is expected across parts of Liberia, affecting parts of Lofa, Gbarpolu, the extreme north of Grand Cape Mount, western Bong, southern Montserrado, Margibi, Grand Bassa, and Grand Kru; northern Sinoe, southern Grand Gedeh, and western River Gee counties (Fig. 3: Areas in Yellow).
1.2 CAUTION
Flash flooding is possible due to expected moderate-to-heavy rainfall. Strong winds may accompany the rains. The public is advised not to drive through surface runoff, as it can have strong undercurrents. Other likely hazards include slippery road surfaces and reduced visibility during the rain, which can disrupt road traffic. Strong winds threaten weak structures, trees, and masts. Disconnect electrical appliances before, not during, the rains. Elsewhere (see places in Green), no hydrometeorological hazards are anticipated. The public is, however, advised to watch out for updates.
